Speech/English Grammar |
The middle grades are the “make it or break it” years, when some students begin to disengage from school, increasing the likelihood of high school dropout. We instruct students about active listening, composing simple sentence and paragraphs, punctuation, grammar, and speech.
|
History Tutoring |
Focus on social development, school, family, neighborhood; larger community, local, state, and international history
|
Mentoring |
Research studies have shown that mentoring provides social and emotional benefits that middle school students who are at risk need (Komosa-Hawkins, 2012 Komosa-Hawkins, K. 2012; Pryce, 2012 Pryce, J. 2012). Underserved middle school students are at risk of making unhealthy and unsafe choices (Komosa-Hawkins, 2012 Komosa-Hawkins, K. 2012; Pryce, 2012 Pryce, J. 2012). These choices can lead to not completing high school (Komosa-Hawkins, 2012 Komosa-Hawkins, K. 2012; Pryce, 2012 Pryce, J. 2012). CAE focuses on improving the social and emotional development of our young adolescents by developing a strong mentoring program.
