Dr. Dama Anita
Dr. Dama Anita is a multi-hyphenate culturist, prolocutor, writer, and creative theologian whose work is positioned at the intersections of popular culture, faith, the arts, politics, social change, and social justice advocacy; using the lens of cultural exegesis. Her work bridges the gap between culture and the church. Dr. Dama Anita evokes her background as an educator, meshed with creative teaching methods and innovative lessons that unify critical analysis and theological reflection. She believes that we cannot coexist within a culture with which we cannot connect. Dr. Dama Anita earned a doctor of education in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University, a master of arts degree in Christian Education from the Interdenominational Theological Center, and a bachelor of arts degree in Biblical Education from Beulah Heights University. She serves as Adjunct Faculty for the Master of Arts in Liturgical Arts and Culture degree program at the Interdenominational Theological Center (The ITC) in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Dama Anita is a member of the Popular Culture Association and American Culture Association and the Honor Society of the Association for Biblical Higher Education-Delta Epsilon Chi. She serves as a committee member for the Georgia Alliance for Boys and Men of Color on the Education and Workforce Development Committee. Dr. Dama Anita lives in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. To employ self-care; she reads avidly, journals her solutions to the world’s problematic ways, pins her way through Pinterest, enjoys rom-coms, and duplicates chef-inspired meals from YouTube. |
